THE PROJECT:
People are beautiful and unique and so are their brains. We decided we would look into the brains of 10 outstanding Vancouverites. It will be a fun project! Feel free to follow us as we measure brainwaves and try to figure out what is special about special people. A yoga god, a special entrerpreneur, a fitness guru, a functional medicine magician; you name it, we mapped them!
THE MAPPING:
So what does mapping even mean? How do we measure brains? Our mapping involves the use of EEG equipment (electroencephalograph) that can track and quantifies brainwave activity. We also use sensors that detect muscle activity, micro sweat and peripheral temperature, heart rate and heart rate variability and breathing. Pretty cool, right? We think so.
THE REASON:
We are curious. We want to learn, explore and connect with people. We want to get to know them better. And what better way to know somebody than by looking at their brain waves? We need to discover secrets first in order to use them. It’s easy. Like finding out the recipe for the best chocolate cake and then baking it. We will be finding out the secrets behind optimal minds so we can put them into action.
CREDITS
These EEG measuring techniques are not my invention, of course. EEG equipment is the methodology used in hospitals or labs to record brain activity. I used hardware and software by Thought Technology. The assessment methods I used are those learnt from some of my teachers and mentors: my father dr. Bruno Demichelis in Milan, dr. Swingle in Vancouver, drs. Lynda and Michael Thompson in Toronto.
